In the Sacrament of Penance/Reconciliation God forgives our sins and restores us to life. This is accomplished through making an examination of conscience and a good confession.
While forgiveness is given through the abundant mercy of God, the graces of the Sacrament are known and understood in the performing of the penance, a work done by the penitent to show forth the intent to reform one’s life and remove the effects of one’s sins.
Children aged 7 and in at least second grade are eligible to celebrate their First Penance/Reconciliation. Our parish provides formation for this Sacrament with elementary aged children in the fall of each year, beginning and October and usually celebrating in December, during the Advent Season. Please contact the Office of Faith Formation & Education for more information.
