The Celebration of the Eucharist is at the heart of the Catholic & Christian life.
We believe that the Eucharist is both the source and the summit of our Christian life. Being a Catholic Christian begins at the Eucharistic table, from which we move to share Christ in the world. The Eucharist is understood as the summit in that the communion with Christ and the Church that is celebrated is understood as the goal of the Catholic spiritual journey.
First Holy Communion
In the Diocese of Phoenix the Sacrament of First Holy Communion is celebrated at the same time as the Sacrament of Confirmation. This restores the ancient tradition of the Roman Catholic Church, as one receives Baptism, Confirmation, and Communion. Children whose parents would like them to be confirmed will normally also prepare for and receive First Holy Communion at the same time, usually in the third grade.
Please contact the Office of Faith Formation & Education if your child(ren) would like to receive First Holy Communion.
