Easter Sunday Hallelujah!!

We Are Also Coming Back To Life

We are God’s people, the people of life, through Jesus coming back to Life.

Easter is the Great Feast of Life:
The famous Italian Catechist and Author, Sofia Cavalletti, wrote back in 1993:
“The Christian faith is an obstinate faith; each time confronted by death, it proclaims that death does not have the last word. And this is what we believe, what we affirm, and what we want to announce to the world, because we know that there has already been a first, great victory of life over death in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.”

It takes faith to believe in the Resurrection.

The disciples had to experience the dark night of the soul after Good Friday. Along with the trauma of Jesus' violent death, they suffered because of the silence of so many unknown elements. What would happen now?

It takes a living faith and a bold hope to even begin to believe in the new creation in Jesus. We Believe in the Resurrection of the Dead.

Jesus brings new reasons to live life fully. With the disciples, “on this day of days, on this feast of feasts, we rejoice in the victory of life! This victory is not just a hope; it is a fact. God, in Christ, has destroyed the power of death!

Jesus’ Resurrection has the Last Word.

New Life has the final word!

NEW PASTURES:
It is the time of year when clergy move and are reassigned. There will be a lot of priests moving this Summer. As you may know, the Vicar for Clergy of the Diocese of Phoenix asked me to make this announcement last weekend at all Masses.

Bishop Dolan has asked me to be Chaplain at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, which you may know is a very large Hospital in the East Valley. I have accepted this new position. There is a growing need for dedicated Hospital Chaplains in the Phoenix Valley. I will be in residence and also helping as Parochial Vicar at Resurrection Parish in Tempe, which is very close to Banner Desert Medical Center.

Fr. Thomas Kagumisa will be Parochial Administrator of Blessed Sacrament Parish as of July 1st. Fr. Thomas is currently assigned to Resurrection Parish in Tempe. I know him and assure you all that he is a very good priest.

Bishop Dolan has offered me a two-month sabbatical before my new assignment begins in July. As of May 5th, I will be away from the parish and Fr. Samuel Aliba will be Parochial Administrator of this parish until June 30th.

On a personal note, I have loved my time here as Pastor of Blessed Sacrament Parish. We have achieved a great amount in this time. We are still celebrating our 50th Jubilee Year. We have begun new Bible Studies and a Mental Health Ministry and much more. I love you all and know that we will be friends always.
