Ordination

Join Bishop Olmsted as he confers the Sacrament of Holy Orders upon Dcn. Frankie Cicero, Dcn. John Nahrgang, and Dcn. Vinhsơn Nguyễn at St. Andrew the Apostle, Chandler, on June 16. The Holy Mass will begin at 10 a.m., but it is expected to fill quickly! Please arrive early to pray for the ordinandi, our priests, and vocations in the diocese!

Recognizing the Stranger: You are invited to an informational afternoon about immigration with keynote speaker Mr. Joe Rubio, lead organizer for the Valley Interfaith Project.

Adult Singles Barbecue: Delicious pork roast cooked and pulled for an amazing barbecue dinner.  Bring a side dish to share, something you like to eat with barbecue pork; veggies all kinds, potato salad or any other salad, cole slaw, dessert be creative. The singles group will supply the meat and drinks so come on out for the best shindig in town! Don’t miss this and bring some friends to mingle. We have a fun evening planned.

Lunch and Learn Hour: You are invited to hear stories of your gift at work during this one-hour lunch. Learn how your charitable gift impacted foster-care children, their families and others throughout Arizona. Tax Attorney, Kristin Gentile White, will speak to the importance of tax credits and their overall impact on the nonprofit community. Finally, you will meet clients, staff, board members and volunteers who cannot wait to say THANK YOU in person. You may even walk out with some Arizona Diamondbacks tickets!

Catholic Charities-We Are The World Refugee Appreciation Event 2018: You are invited to attend our Annual Refugee Appreciation Event. Come and enjoy an evening with work of refugee artists, fashion show, drinks, hors d’ oeuvres, raffles, and much more! General Admission Tickets is $15 per person. Each year, we help hundreds of refugees set up their new home and find employment. Net proceeds from the event benefit the Refugee Match Grant Early Employment Program and are matched $2 for each $1 raised. See you all there!

June 23, 30 and July 7

Citizenship Preparation Classes: The Crosier Community of Phoenix is hosting its next series of citizenship classes from 10 a.m.-Noon on Saturdays, June 23, 30 and July 7, 2018 at Crosier Village, 717 E. Southern Ave. in Phoenix. Classes are FREE but donations are greatly appreciated. The series will be conducted in English. This course helps students learn the basics to become a United States citizen by studying for the U.S. citizenship test and preparing for the interview. It also helps students develop the skills necessary for passing the test. If you are interested in attending, we ask that register in advance as seating is limited. Please register via the “Register (Individual)” button and complete the form. Your information will be kept confidential and will not be shared with anyone.

Clases de Ciudadanía: La comunidad Cruzada de Phoenix está organizando su serie de clases de ciudadanía para aquellos interesados en aprender los conceptos básicos de convertirse en un ciudadano de los Estados Unidos, y para aquellos que deseen desarrollar sus habilidades en inglés. La serie tiene una duración de sábados consecutivos en 23, 30 de junio y 7 de julio, 2018. La información proporcionada incluirá la preparación para el examen y la entrevista. Las clases se dan en Inglés por el hermano Jim Lewandowski, osc, que ha trabajado como defensor de inmigrantes y es un representante acreditado por la Junta de Apelaciones de Inmigración. Las clases empiezan a las 10 a.m. hasta las 12 p.m. (mediodía) en la Crosier Village, 717 E. Southern Ave. en Phoenix, AZ 85040. Las clases son gratuitos pero las donaciones se agradecen. Sacred Heart Home Educators Summer Evening Home school Discussion: Sacred Heart Home Educators (SHHE) invites you to an “adults only” evening of answers to home school questions covering Kindergarten through High School. Five seasoned home schoolers will offer tips and tidbits to the homeschooling journey for those considering joining the journey and those already en route. All are welcome!

U.S. Citizenship Application – How To Do It:  The Crosiers are hosting a special immigration service program that will help you understand the 20-page citizenship application (N-400). You will also learn how to fill out the form and submit it to the USCIS. The program will be presented by an immigration attorney who will also provide individual consultations at no charge. The program is FREE but donations are greatly appreciated. If you are interested in attending, we ask that you call and register in advance as seating is limited.

Además aprenderán a completar y presentar la forma a USCIS. Está sesión será presentada por un abogado de inmigración quien proveerá consultas individuales gratuitas. Standing Firm: Arming Yourself in God’s Mighty Power: Join us for Standing Firm: Arming Yourself in God’s Mighty Power, a Special Edition study guide based on Fr. Robert Spitzer’s publications regarding spiritual warfare. All women are invited. We will meet every other Wednesday, finishing before Thanksgiving.
