Fourth Sunday of Advent

O COME, O COME Emmanuel: We are on our final week of the Journey to Bethlehem. We are in the village of Ein Karem, 5 miles to the west of Jerusalem, the home town of Zechariah and Elizabeth.

When Mary said to the Angel Gabriel at her home in Nazareth “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord! May it be done to me according to your word,” she became the Mother of God, and she immediately dropped everything and went to Ein Karem to visit Elizabeth, who was also expecting. Mary, our Mother, brings Jesus to us.

Mary went to visit and help her cousin, and Elizabeth and the tiny babe John in the womb became the first and joyful adorers of Jesus, just days since His conception, still in the Immaculate Tabernacle of Mary’s womb.

Like Elizabeth, filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit, we cry out in loud voices: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!”

Are You ‘In Bethlehem’ Yet? Jesus is So Close To Us Today.

O Come, Let Us Adore Him - Sign Up For Adoration at the Parish Office. It is your own personal time to spend with Christ in the Adoration Chapel.

Deepen Your Prayer: The easiest and surest way to grow in holiness, in a love relationship with Jesus, is through a deepening of our prayer life through Mary.

Use her example and reach out with the gentle touch of the Holy Spirit of God’s love to someone who you know and may be lonely, anxious or in need. This precious time is near and it is a great act of Christian charity to live our faith as Mary did, by self-sacrifice of our precious time.

The simple way to grow in holiness, in a love relationship with Jesus is through our learning to pray, which is the most important thing in life. Treat yourself to all kinds of prayer this Christmas and Lenten Season.
